Information Security
Sensitive information is among the most valuable assets possessed by an organisation and it is therefore absolutely necessary to have a suitable means of protecting it. The loss of sensitive data often represents unquantifiable damage for firms. At the same time, firms are faced with the need to have documents containing sensitive information available wherever and whenever they are needed and to exchange them with external entities. Sensitive information is thus accessible outside the organisation. Another aspect of the rising demands placed on document security is the diversity of hardware devices on which documents are stored, from desktop computers and notebooks to mobile telephones and PDAs. Naturally, documents also exist in various environments and applications, from office applications and e-mail to the most various mobile applications.
Oracle IRM
Profinit offers a solution to all of these problems in the form of Oracle IRM, an intelligent product that enables monitoring of attempts to access documents, either from within or from outside of the organisation. Each copy is thus protected. Within the context of working with a document itself, it is necessary to prevent activities that could lead to the misuse of information (such as printing a document or copying part of a document to another location). The security model is based on the principle of roles and its advantage is that it is possible to dynamically modify the security model according to the organisation's current needs. Of no less importance, it is possible to conduct a security audit with the solution.
